BRIEF HISTORY:

In 1988, Andrew Edgley and Mike Ralston formed Medipath Computer Services Pty Ltd (a subsidiary company of MediSoft International) and developed the original MediPATH program. At this time there were few products designed specifically for the Australian market and it was not long before these core products, MediPATH and MediRAD were installed in pathology and radiology practices and large institutions throughout Australia and later in the United Kingdom.

In March 2000, an independent company, Last Resort Support Pty Ltd, was established to continue the development and support of medical systems while MediSoft International concentrated on the Veterinary market. All programming and support staff from the Pathology Division of MediSoft joined Last Resort Support Pty Ltd and provided continuing support for the clients.

All LRS applications can be tailored to meet the requirements of individual clients so our products are constantly evolving in response to market forces.

It is a mark of both the quality of, and service provided for these products, that no client has ever switched to another application unless that client has been purchased by a larger corporation.

CURRENT APPLICATIONS:

MediBILL is a specialist health debtors' management suite which produces integrated invoices across all professional service sections in hospitals. LRS provides Medclaims, HICOnline, Private Health Fund and TAC on-line automated claiming and receipting.

MediBOOK is a fully integrated patient management system for Radiology and other Medical Service providers.

Our SeqHepB product is a unique web based Hepatitis B genetical analysis program which automatically reports drug resistance of a patient's HepB genotype. A similar product provides a fully automated HIV-CREST analysis via secure Web access. These products are used throughout the world.

EQuery2 was developed in conjunction with Gippsland Pathology Service to provide easy Doctor download of results via the Internet. Results are imported directly into Practice Software. EQuery2 is an independent product which does not require MediRAD or MediPATH software. It is still in use in some of our major hospitals and in many private laboratories.

AllTalk is an electronic messaging system designed to provide secure communication at the Application to Application level. It manages encryption and certification, using PKI or proprietary encryption methods. The system has a Web Services Interface and is profile driven for each message destination. AllTalk is the next generation of EQuery. AVP, an extension program of AllTalk, allows electronic delivery of prescriptions, referrals, correspondence, orders etc. between GP users.

GEdit is a GUI Result Editor interface for use with text documents and reports.

Webstro is a secure internet service which allows medical practitioners, hospital wards and other authorised persons, direct access to pathology or radiology results on-line.
