LRS
Health has an obligation to its clients and to the community to ensure
the confidentiality of data for both the clients and their patients
at all times.
Strict confidentiality
at all times is required by all staff employed or contracted by LRS.
All staff and contractors are required to sign a "Confidentiality
Agreement" as a condition of employment.
Information about
the client may be written, verbal or in other forms. All staff are required
to treat any information acquired during their work as strictly confidential.
Staff need also
to be mindful that client information, which they may obtain from other
sources, may be mistakenly thought by others to have been gained in
the course of their employment. Staff must be vigilant regarding unintended
disclosures of information by way of unattended computer screens, printers
and conversations in public areas.
No information regarding
client or patient data may be given to a third party.
All on-line access
to any site requires a personalised log-on and password and all data
electronically downloaded to external computer systems are fully encrypted.
A breach of confidentiality
will provoke disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal or cancellation
of contract arrangements.
